Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bradford for a Multiskilled Engineer at Styrene Packaging & Insulation Ltd. The role involves performing preventive and breakdown maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults, ensuring the efficiency of production machinery, and implementing improvements to reduce downtime. The role also includes adhering to health and safety protocols and collaborating with other departments to optimize operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Proven technical skills in mechanical and electrical maintenance, including experience with fault diagnosis, system repairs, and assembly.
- Proficiency with equipment maintenance, preventive practices, and machine operation within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving technical or operational issues.
- Adherence to safety protocols and experience in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
- Experience in the manufacturing or construction industry and familiarity with EPS production is a plus.
Prior Experience Working with Any of the Below Would Be Viewed Favourably:
- Fault Finding
- Sensors, diagnostics and replacement
- Readers for Silos
- PLC knowledge
- 3 phase and single phase
- Motors and Gear Boxes
- Knowledge of working with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Some steam based or pressurised systems knowledge
A recognised qualification in engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent technical certification) is preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience of working at this level. 17th Edition is an essential requirement with 18th Edition preferred. High level of technical knowledge with the ability to apply this to practical problems.
