Short Course Manager
Permanent, full time
Salary: £48,149 – £55,755 per annum
It is expected that, due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be on campus approximately 80% of the time, including some weekends.
We are seeking an experienced Short Course Manager to lead our team of administrators and academic staff. In this role, you will oversee the entire short course portfoliofrom initial concept and design through to delivery, evaluation, and quality assurance. Our courses include CPD programmes, accredited qualifications from Levels 1 to 5, and higher education credit-bearing modules, delivered during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
You will be confident working with students, academic staff, awarding bodies, and higher education partners. You will be highly organised, creative, and detail-oriented, with the ability to thrive under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
In this role, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Short Course Office, overseeing areas such as financial management and reporting, quality assurance, accreditation processes, timetabling, and course delivery. A strong understanding of the broader higher education landscape and the networks in which the University operates is essential, as youll play a key role in leveraging these connections to enhance our short course offering.
You will be hands-on in all aspects of course delivery and management, combining strategic thinking with strong operational oversight. You should have experience managing course provision and feel confident working with diverse client groups and leading academic teams.
Flexibility is essential, as evening and weekend work will be required.
We are seeking a professional who is passionate about adult education and committed to delivering exceptional service. You must be proactive, solution-focused, and able to manage a demanding workload. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, along with proven experience in quality assurance and accreditation. Familiarity with student records systems would be an advantage.
