This role sits within the Audience Insights team in the Audience, Video & Technology division and is a hybrid role working across our tech stack, from building data pipelines, supporting the development of ML models through to end user reporting via apps and dashboards, then presenting findings to stakeholders across the business. Collaboration with our existing data engineers, scientists and analysts is key to the success of the role and wider Audience Insights team. This role will interface with digital stakeholders including Product, Commercial, Content and Marketing. Working collaboratively with teams across the business, the analyst/engineer will help identify opportunities to further grow our consumer database, improve the customer experience, increase product loyalty and ultimately drive revenue via data for our Digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Data analysis, working with complex and diverse data sources.
- Identify the best ways to match datasets together to maximise their value, delivering valuable customer and operational insights, applying innovative approaches where required.
- Work with wider Data teams to develop / maintain data architecture and enhance data quality whilst supporting our product teams to maintain, test and develop our analytics solutions.
- Interrogation of consumer online habits to inform both product development, content acquisition and commercial opportunities.
- Constructively challenge and question as well as actively listen to stakeholder requirements.
- Visualise and present to stakeholders’ findings from analysis, highlighting insights and recommending actions.
- Maintain awareness on current and new technologies to drive efficiencies and make use of developments in areas such as AI / Machine learning / Apps.
Skills and Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a Data / Business related discipline.
- Ability to compose complex queries using SQL.
- Keen interest in and capability of programming in Spark (Scala or Python).
- Experience with Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, ELT/ETL processes, and analytics best practices.
- Experience delivering business transformation through data driven analysis.
- Knowledge of designing and maintaining automated dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the team and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and deliver new, innovative analysis / projects from existing and new data sources.
- Making complex concepts simple and easy to understand.
- Passion for understanding consumer behaviour and translating this into commercial opportunities.
- Organised, eye for quality, attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all aspects of work output.
