The STV Player is the fastest growing broadcast streaming service in the UK, offering viewers an extensive catalogue of content from around the world, including thousands of hours of high-quality drama, sport and factual entertainment series. STV Player is available across all the UK’s connected TV homes and on all major platforms, including Apple, Android, Sky, Virgin Media, Amazon Fire TV, and Freeview Play.
The STV Digital team has transformed the STV Player into a world-class platform. Our challenge is to continue driving innovation, delivering great service and providing fantastic content to any user on any streaming platform.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Manager, Web & Roku to join the team and drive the STV Player forward to its next phase of development and audience engagement.
The Web team owns several key websites and services that power the STV Player, including:
- The main STV Player website
- Login and account management portal
- Player’s content management system
- Online payment portal
The Web team are responsible for the first page that many STV Player users see when they first visit, and for the key onboarding and payment journeys.
Working closely with the Head of Product and other STV Player Product Managers, you will be instrumental in delivering product development initiatives, working toward the STV Player vision. This position sits at the heart of the Digital team and as such will also work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers and partners to take projects from definition, business casing, requirements gathering, design to development, testing, release and in-life support.
Translate product vision into user stories and see projects through to their successful delivery and in-life support. Lead and inspire the development team for efficient Agile delivery, stakeholder satisfaction and user delight. Ensure that projects are delivering to business plan, on time and to expected quality standards.
Product management methodologies, including Agile and Scrum. Data-informed, you will be able to represent the Web & Roku team in Digital forums, providing insightful expertise at all levels.
As a lean and agile organisation, we are working efficiently: frequent, impactful product deployment on schedule with no/minimal defects. Experience as an Agile Scrum Product Manager in a web environment is desirable. Knowledge of end-to-end Agile product delivery and methodologies. Demonstrable experience of structuring complex information for the purpose of opportunity/risk identification, and to facilitate clear communication. Proactive and innovative approach, and ability to manage multiple projects in a highly energetic environment. Experience in the entertainment, OTT, cable or broadcast industries is preferable.
