THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Creative, the Creative & Compliance Project Manager is a hands-on role within STV Commercial to support advertisers throughout the creative development, production, compliance and delivery of ads for STV’s new self-service advertising offering. This role combines creative production expertise with a strong understanding of advertising regulations and technical requirements. The Creative & Compliance Project Manager will help advertisers using the self-service creative platform to create effective, cost-efficient TV advertising that meets technical, creative, legal and compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will provide creative support and production expertise where needed and be responsible for reviewing all ads to ensure compliance and technical compatibility for transmission. They will help users navigate the platform where needed, develop and refine advertising assets, troubleshoot issues and ensure campaigns are ready for approval and broadcast. The role will also include the end-to-end creation and production of advertising campaigns on behalf of clients where additional support is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creative Support & Consultancy
- Provide creative feedback and hands-on support to advertisers, helping them improve the quality and effectiveness of their campaigns.
- Advise on ad copy, messaging, and creative execution for ads created in the platform.
- Support advertisers with best-practice guidance and asset-related troubleshooting throughout the creative process.
- Production & Delivery
- Support advertisers through the creative production process, providing advice where needed.
- Manage end-to-end production and delivery for campaigns requiring managed service.
- Oversee approval and delivery of assets within the platform.
- Conduct quality control checks on creative assets before submission, delivery and broadcast.
- Compliance & Regulatory
- Review ads and creative assets to ensure they meet technical specifications, advertising regulations and broadcast compliance requirements.
- Ensure advertising copy and creative executions meet relevant regulatory and industry standards, including complying with the BCAP code and any other codes as required.
- Provide advice to advertisers or amend submitted copy as needed to ensure they meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Manage clearance processes, including reviewing claims/substantiation and liaising with Clearcast, the external regulatory and clearance body for TV advertising.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advertising standards and broadcast compliance requirements.
- Add disclaimers to submitted copy where required.
- Technical Quality Assurance
- Review and troubleshoot assets against required formats and specifications.
- Undertake basic editing, clocking and technical checks where required.
- Ensure consistent quality standards across all creative output created on the platform.
- Customer Support
- Create and maintain help guides, tutorials and support content for advertisers and platform users.
- Guide and support advertisers and internal teams, helping users understand how to use the platform to create effective creative.
- Liaise with technical support services on the integrated creative platform where required to ensure the smooth running of the service.
- Contribute to the development of resources that improve user adoption, quality and campaign success.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven depth of experience in creative production within advertising, broadcast or digital marketing is essential.
- Strong understanding of advertising and broadcast regulations including BCAP and Ofcom codes, compliance requirements and creative approval processes is essential.
- Copywriting skills with a sound understanding of visual effectiveness and advertising principles.
- Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with experience of quality control and technical asset checks.
- An understanding of technical specifications for broadcast and digital advertising assets.
- Experience of providing guidance or customer support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable balancing creative, technical and regulatory priorities.
- Desirable experience includes Clearcast submissions and approvals, broadcast traffic or delivery workflows, basic video editing and clocking.
