STV’s in-house Creative team are currently recruiting for a Junior Designer The Creative team are behind the big ideas that make the STV brand stand out. Working in partnership with Marketing, the team create campaigns that not only promote STV’s award winning shows but also support initiatives like STV Zero and the STV Children’s Appeal, projects that genuinely make a difference, reaching millions across Scotland and beyond.
THE ROLE
Contract type: 12 month fixed term contract
Location: Glasgow/Hybrid
Salary: £23,088 per annum
Reporting to the Lead Designer, the Junior Designer will work as part of a collaborative team, supporting exciting projects and helping shape STV’s iconic brand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work independently or as part of a collaborative team to bring campaign ideas to life across various platforms, from TV and print to digital and social media.
- Develop a good understanding of our brand guidelines, including visual language and tone of voice, and how to apply those guidelines whilst being innovative.
- Rework imagery for TV shows into various formats for STV Player and partner sites (Amazon, Sky) to keep our marketing strong and consistent.
- Design and deliver outstanding presentations and internal communications.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
- Explore new trends, to improve our creative output and delight our clients.
- Assist in any other aspects of the work of the Company as reasonably required
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Previous related experience as a Junior Designer is desirable.
- A creative portfolio showcasing your skills and digital design projects is essential for this role.
- A strong understanding of graphic design principles and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, with a specific focus on Powerpoint, is essential.
- Curiosity and creativity, confident in exploring new ideas and ways of working.
- Discipline to manage competing projects and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- A keen eye for detail including good literacy and grammar skills.
It would be great if you also had:
- A relevant qualification in Graphic Design.
- A working knowledge of video editing and motion graphics (Premiere and Adobe After Effects).
- Experience using Figma.
