STV’s in-house Creative team are currently recruiting for a Junior Creative . The Creative team are behind the big ideas that make the STV brand stand out. Working in partnership with Marketing, the team create campaigns that not only promote STV’s award winning shows but also support initiatives like STV Zero and the STV Children’s Appeal, projects that genuinely make a difference, reaching millions across Scotland and beyond.
THE ROLE
Contract type: 12 month fixed term contract
Location: Glasgow/Hybrid
Salary: £23,088 per annum
Reporting to the Lead Creative, the Junior Creative will have a focus on video editing, bringing big ideas that can be executed through video, copy and design – from one-off pieces of content to multi-platform campaigns with many deliverables. You’ll get inspiring briefs from clients in all areas of the business, giving you the opportunity to produce creative work for established brands like STV Player, STV News and STV Children’s Appeal. The responsibilities of the role will include:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilise video editing skills to create promos, trailers and ads for broadcast, VOD and social media, as well as ad-hoc projects like showreels and internal-facing videos.
- Take briefs from various in-house clients and developing compelling creative responses designed to help achieve targets.
- Write creative copy and scripts, from scroll-stopping social posts to poster headlines, campaign slogans and attention-grabbing ads.
- Prepare pitch decks and presentations to bring your creative proposals to life and get people excited about making them happen.
- Collaborate with other members of the team, including graphic designers, motion designers, audio engineers, voiceover artists and producers.
- Respond constructively to feedback and suggestions from creative directors, clients and stakeholders.
- Help to guide creative ideas through the production process from pitch to platform, whether it’s for TV, TikTok or anything in between.
- Assist in any other aspects of the work of the Company as reasonably required.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Previous experience working in a creative role at a junior level in an advertising or marketing environment is desirable.
- Strong editing skills and experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud particularly Premier Pro.
- Appreciation for storytelling and the craft of TV and filmmaking. Ability to analyse programmes to pick out key themes and compelling plot lines.
- Excellent writing skills, with an interest in creative copywriting, scriptwriting and storytelling.
- Strong teamworking and interpersonal skills, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders across the business.
- Resourceful, self-motivated and solution focussed to identify creative solutions to briefs and challenges.
- The ability to work under pressure, multi-task and work across multiple projects simultaneously.
It would be great if you also had:
- A relevant qualification in a media related discipline.
- A keen interest in TV production, streaming, advertising and social media. Curious about consumer behaviour, popular culture and the role of media in society.
- An appreciation for the power of good branding, current trends, tools and techniques within advertising and marketing.
