THE ROLE
We currently have an exciting opportunity for experienced YouTube Channel Managers (x2) to help grow and manage a portfolio of existing and newly launched YouTube channels aligned to STV’s content strategy. The role is responsible for maximising audience reach and engagement and revenue opportunities generated by STV’s content on YouTube. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong editorial judgement coupled with proven experience in data-led optimisation, ensuring video content consistently performs at its highest potential. You will work closely with producers, editors, and digital teams across STV, STV Radio and STV Studios to package content effectively, grow audiences, and build engaged communities around channels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Channel Management
- Manage day-to-day operations across multiple YouTube channels.
- Upload, schedule, and publish content across STV’s YouTube portfolio of channels.
- Maintain high editorial standards and ensure brand consistency.
- Source content in line with channels strategy and in consideration of rights availability.
- Edit YouTube videos and clips to maximise retention and performance.
- Create and optimise titles, descriptions, thumbnails, end screens, and playlists.
- Apply best practice packaging strategies to improve click-through rates and watch time.
- Implement YouTube SEO best practices to drive discoverability and audience growth.
- Conduct keyword research and optimise metadata for search and recommendation performance.
- Support channel growth through strategic publishing and content planning.
- Analyse channel and video performance using YouTube Studio and analytics tools, take appropriate actions based on findings.
- Identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimisation, see through to their execution and measurement.
- Contribute learnings to ongoing channel strategy and editorial planning.
- Monitor comments and audience engagement, address as required.
- Foster positive fan interaction and build engaged communities around STV content.
- Identify audience trends and feedback to inform content development.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Proven experience managing YouTube channels for brands, publishers, or broadcasters.
- Demonstrable advanced editing skills on leading video editing software systems and basic motion graphics skills.
- Solid understanding of YouTube Studio and channel analytics.
- Knowledge of YouTube SEO and audience growth strategies.
- Experience packaging content for YouTube (thumbnails, titles, optimisation).
- Strong attention to detail and editorial judgement.
Desirable
- Experience working with YouTube CMS.
- Content ID experience and knowledge of rights management workflows.
- Experience working with archive or broadcast content.
- Familiarity with social video trends and digital-first storytelling.

- Curious and data-driven, with a strong interest in audience behaviour.
