On-air, STV reaches more than 70% of Scottish adults every month through its TV channel - the largest commercial channel in Scotland - and streaming service, STV Player, which is also available across the rest of the UK. STV has expanded its audience even further by introducing an audio division, with STV Radio - a major new Scotland-focused commercial radio station – which launched in Jan’ 2026.

From bases across the UK, STV’s content production arm, STV Studios, creates world-class entertainment for UK and international networks and streamers, including Apple TV+ drama Criminal Record, BBC police drama Blue Lights and Sky’s Amadeus, as well entertainment formats like Catchphrase and Bridge of Lies, and myriad FactEnt shows.

STV Post-Production, based in STV’s Glasgow headquarters, delivers picture and audio post-production for STV Studios’ Factual and Entertainment teams — from first ingest to final delivery. Our work includes shows like The Yorkshire Auction House (Discovery), Catchphrase (ITV), Antiques Road Trip, Bridge of Lies, The Travelling Auctioneers, The Firm and The Troops (BBC).

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Audience - Video & Technology, and owning the relationship with STV Studios, the Head of Post-Production will lead and manage a multi-skilled core team of around 12 full-time staff and freelancers (which expands to accommodate workload). Post-production delivers a service to labels within STV Studios as well as STV’s in-house Creative team (producing promotional videos for on-air and digital platforms).

The wide-ranging responsibility of the Head of Post-Production will encompass the provision of editing, sound dub, media management and storage services and management of technology and infrastructure across the operation.

To date, external clients have been minimal, but this could be a growth opportunity. Establish a strong working relationship with STV Studios to support post-production of commissions across a range of titles and genres. Creating quotes and optimising use of facilities to maintain and improve overall cost-efficiency to the business across post and production.

In collaboration with the Post-Production Supervisor, ensure day-to-day scheduling and deadlines are met and that staff and resources are continually prioritised appropriately to meet challenging timelines and deliveries. Set clear goals, manage projects and assign team members accordingly, ensuring the highest impact is achieved timeously and to the standard expected. Assess future staffing requirements of post-production and any changes to the structure and/or hours of operation that facilitate effective management and service delivery. Work with HR to identify skills and training that may be required going forward. Oversee department leave, absence and shift rostering, while supporting team members to drive a positive and fulfilling work environment.

Collaborate closely with team members to communicate changes and objectives, develop roles and responsibilities, with the aim of creating a culture of excellence and responsive, customer-focused delivery.
