THE ROLE

As Business Development Manager you will be adept at building relationships with clients and businesses to maximise the effectiveness of their marketing. You will be responsible for driving a new business portfolio and generating advertising revenue across all platforms including STV, STV Player and STV Radio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to exceed revenue targets.
  • Work with businesses to identify, understand and build solutions based on their marketing objectives.
  • Identify and secure new business, ensuring a high level of client retention.
  • Efficiently manage workload, displaying a high degree of collaboration and initiative specifically in relation to individual portfolio management.
  • Provide exceptional service to clients by understanding their business needs and recommending stand-out media campaigns.
  • Negotiate deals, campaign terms and annual contracts.
  • Prepare and build multi-platform innovative solutions for clients across TV, Online and Radio.
  • Work with creative and marketing teams to design effective campaigns.
  • Understand the unique strengths of STV’s platforms and how they deliver results.
  • Maintain long term client relationships built on trust and understanding client needs.
  • Confidently develop and grow a portfolio of clients through strategic outreach and relationship building.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of media industry trends and audience insights.
  • Manage and update CRM system daily, providing accurate timely data for forecasting purposes.
  • Accurately forecast revenue for reporting purposes.
  • Act as a positive brand ambassador for STV at all times.
  • Assist in any other aspect of the work of the Company as reasonably required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven depth of experience working as a senior sales professional in a direct sales environment, preferably media related, is essential.
  • A detailed knowledge and understanding of advertising trading within the Scottish marketplace.
  • Highly motivated with a proven track record of winning new business and developing long term commercial relationships with key clients and businesses.
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and executing innovative campaigns that deliver results for clients.
  • Proven track record of understanding client needs and building campaigns that are commercially viable.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work output.
  • Excellent listening, presentation and communication skills.
  • A full clean driving license is essential.
