Location: STV is Scotland’s leading platform for audiences and advertisers and a global content powerhouse. On-air, STV reaches more than 70% of Scottish adults every month through its TV channel - the largest commercial channel in Scotland - and streaming service, STV Player, which is also available across the rest of the UK. STV has expanded its audience even further by introducing an audio division, with STV Radio - a major new Scotland-focused commercial radio station – which launched at the start of 2026.

As Business Development Manager you will be adept at building relationships with clients and businesses to maximise the effectiveness of their marketing. You will be responsible for driving a new business portfolio and generating advertising revenue across all platforms including STV, STV Player and STV Radio. This role is ideal for an experienced sales professional based in the North of Scotland and within commuting distance of either Aberdeen, Inverness or Dundee.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to exceed revenue targets.
  • Work with businesses to identify, understand and build solutions based on their marketing objectives.
  • Identify and secure new business, ensuring a high level of client retention.
  • Provide exceptional service to clients by understanding their business needs and recommending stand-out media campaigns.
  • Prepare and build multi-platform innovative solutions for clients across TV, Online and Radio.
  • Work with creative and marketing teams to design effective campaigns.
  • Maintain long term client relationships built on trust and understanding client needs.
  • Confidently develop and grow a portfolio of clients through strategic outreach and relationship building.
  • Manage and update CRM system daily, providing accurate timely data for forecasting purposes.
  • Act as a positive brand ambassador for STV at all times.

A minimum of 3 years working as a senior sales professional in a direct sales environment is essential. A detailed knowledge and understanding of advertising trading within the Scottish marketplace. Highly motivated with a proven track record of winning new business and developing long term commercial relationships with key clients and businesses. Demonstrable experience in planning and executing innovative campaigns that deliver results for clients. Proven track record of understanding client needs and building campaigns that are commercially viable. A full clean driving license is essential.
