Position Summary:

This is a fulltime position reporting to either the Director of National Account Sales or the Director of Regional Sales, the Junior Sales Manager is responsible for fostering an in-depth knowledge of the products and services offered by Ruger while thoroughly researching and cultivating new customers and maintaining relationships with existing customers.The right candidate must possess a positive attitude and a strong ability to work with others to further the Company’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Innovation and Teamwork.

Responsibilities and Initiatives:

  • Identify, Create, and Manage defined customer and lead bases to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of Ruger firearms products, services, and market advantages.
  • Cultivate and maintain existing business relationships, while creating new business opportunities.
  • Educate distribution through product and sales presentations.
  • Utilization of CRM module to track and maintain all sales leads and opportunities.
  • Create annual territory plan targeting key accounts and business opportunities, yielding forecasts and established sales revenue for territory.
  • Ability to travel of a minimum of 100 nights per year or as requested during high travel times such as show season, new product launches and program launches

Candidate Profile & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge in communications, collaboration and data technology with specific experience selling Ruger’s product line.
  • Knowledge of selling professional services and managed services is preferred.
  • Experience of direct selling experience is required.
  • Ability to call on and work directly with buyers and executives in mid to large size businesses.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated sales ability and technical aptitude is required.
  • Knowledge and track record of territory development including new business accounts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook is required.
  • Previous experience working in the firearms industry is required.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor\’s Degree, with a concentration in Business or Marketing is preferred.

Additional Requirements:
Must be able to successfully pass a drug and background screening.
