StudyVista Education is an online tutoring company dedicated to making high-quality, affordable education accessible to students across the UK. Founded by two brothers with strong backgrounds in maths and science, we provide a range of services - including 1-to-1 tuition, group lessons, exam preparation, and dedicated SEND support - to help students of all ages build confidence and achieve academic success.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated tutors with experience in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in English, Maths, and Science.
Role Overview
As an Online SEND Tutor with StudyVista Education, you will deliver tailored, engaging lessons in your chosen subject area(s) - English, Maths, or Science - to students from primary school through to A-Level. You will adapt your teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional educational needs. This is a fully remote, freelance position, offering the flexibility to set your own schedule while making a meaningful impact on students' learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality online lessons tailored to the specific needs of SEND students.
- Differentiating teaching methods to support various learning styles and abilities.
- Provide 1-to-1 sessions, small group lessons, and potentially pre-recorded content.
- Develop lesson materials and assign homework (optional, based on client request).
- Use online platforms to deliver interactive and supportive lessons.
- Track and report on student progress, providing clear communication to parents and/or guardians.
- Maintain safeguarding standards and follow best practices for online learning.
Requirements (Essential)
- Right to work in the UK (we are unable to accept applicants who currently hold a student visa in the UK).
- Enhanced DBS Check (or willing to obtain one).
- Strong subject knowledge in one (or more) of the following: English up to A-Level, Maths up to A-Level (including Further Maths), Science up to A-Level (any discipline).
- Demonstrated experience working with SEND students, with the ability to adapt lessons accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and a supportive teaching style.
- Professional, reliable, and committed to student success.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Bachelor's degree in your subject area, education, SEND, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specific SEND training or qualifications (e.g., autism awareness, dyslexia support, ADHD strategies).
- Previous experience delivering exam preparation to SEND learners.
- Safeguarding training.
