We are looking for passionate and dedicated maths tutors to join our growing team.
Role Overview
As an Online Maths Tutor with StudyVista Education, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons to students from primary school through to A-Level and Further Maths, including those with special educational needs (SEND).
You will have the freedom to set your own schedule and work remotely, making this an ideal opportunity for tutors seeking flexibility while helping students reach their full potential.
This role is freelance, meaning you will be responsible for managing your own taxes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality online maths lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Teach across a range of levels: Primary, GCSE, A-Level (including Further Maths), and SEND where applicable.
- Provide 1-to-1 sessions, small group lessons, and potentially pre-recorded content.
- Develop lesson materials and assign homework (optional based on client request).
- Use Microsoft Teams (or other online platforms) to deliver interactive and engaging sessions.
- Track and report on student progress to parents and/or guardians.
- Maintain safeguarding standards and follow best practices for online learning.
- Stay up to date with UK curriculum requirements and exam board specifications (Edexcel, AQA, OCR, WJEC).
Requirements
Essential
- Right to work in the UK.
- DBS Check (Enhanced preferred) — must be current or willing to obtain.
- Strong subject knowledge in maths up to A-Level (including Further Maths).
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, reliable approach.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in maths, education, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Previous experience delivering exam preparation sessions.
- Familiarity with UK exam boards such as Edexcel, AQA, OCR, and WJEC.
- Safeguarding training.
Hours
Fully flexible schedule — you set your own availability. Lessons are scheduled based on client demand.
Pay
Starting at £15 per hour, with higher rates for tutors with QTS, SEND experience, or advanced subject expertise.
