We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Academic Counsellor in our London Office to assist students in studying abroad as international students. As a Senior Academic Counsellor, you will have a key role in providing guidance and support to students in various aspects of their academic journey, attracting students to study abroad, and ensuring their successful placement in educational programs worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the students seeking international educational opportunities.

Working Hours: 10:30 AM - 7 PM

Work Mode: Fully Onsite (Monday - Friday)

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000

Office Location: Park Royal

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ academic backgrounds, career goals, and preferences.
  • Help students understand entry requirements, course structures, and available intakes.
  • Support students in overcoming academic, financial, and personal barriers.
  • Advise on suitable study destinations, institutions, and programs (e.g., undergraduate, postgraduate).
  • Assist students in preparing and submitting complete and accurate admission applications.
  • Liaise with partner institutions regarding application updates and decisions.
  • Guide students in writing personal statements, CVs, and academic essays.
  • Educate students about visa requirements and processes for different countries.
  • Prepare students for pre-cas, visa interviews where necessary.
  • Support in compiling and reviewing visa documentation (proof of funds, statements, forms).
  • Maintain regular communication with prospective and current students.
  • Use CRM systems to track and manage leads through the recruitment funnel.
  • Build strong relationships with students to ensure trust and satisfaction.
  • Attend education fairs, webinars, school visits to promote study opportunities.
  • Convert leads from online platforms (email, WhatsApp, social media) into applications.
  • Participate in marketing campaigns, roadshows, and info sessions.
  • Maintain accurate student records and track progress from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Submit regular performance reports to management.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and partner guidelines.
  • Work closely with partner institutions and in-country representatives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (admissions, marketing, operations) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and contribute to the overall success of the team.
  • Fulfil other duties as assigned by the Line Manager, contributing to the efficient functioning of the organization.

Person Specification:

  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in overseas study consulting, specializing in UK, Canada, Australia, US or Europe.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively explain concepts and cater to customer needs.
  • Demonstrate strong sales acumen and the capability to establish and nurture customer relationships.
  • Possess excellent English language proficiency, enabling effective communication and presentation delivery in English.
  • Thrive in high-pressure environments and demonstrate the ability to work towards and achieve targets.
  • Embrace business challenges, actively seek opportunities for improvement, and exhibit a positive attitude towards change.
  • Excel in collaborative teamwork, fostering a harmonious and productive team environment.
  • Display professionalism and efficiency in business communication, both in English and Vietnamese.
  • Hold at least a Bachelor's Degree qualification.

Able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising own workload and that of the team and planning ahead to meet deadlines.
  • An understanding of information governance and data protection.

Special requirements:

  • Able to undertake duties at different premises.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours to effectively support the company’s operations and events.
  • Travel may be required in order to attend conferences, events, new projects and effectively represent the Company in key networks.
