Bath International Study Centre (ISC) is an exciting development, launching in September 2026. You would be working in a culture of enhancing learning, teaching, and assessment through a developmental approach, which for you will mean autonomy, innovation, and development opportunities.

The Progress Coach’s role is to support students within the ISC, both online and face-to-face. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of services and processes enabling the site to consistently provide excellent student experience. This will require excellent people skills and a good level of administrative ability. The post holder will assist in delivering a reception service, responding to routine student enquiries, and become a skilled user of our internal student records system. The post holder will monitor student progress through grades and attendance information and will provide appropriate coaching and interventions to assist them.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • To deliver regular prepare to progress sessions to tutor groups and provide academic counselling to students.
  • Coach students on alternative degree options, where appropriate, and liaise with Study Group’s Extended Progression Support team.
  • To track student performance and liaise promptly with the academic team to identify suitable intervention strategies.
  • To track completion of mandatory non-academic modules on the VLE.
  • To collaborate with academic tutors to identify and provide appropriate resources to support student performance.
  • To work with the welfare team in ensuring the well-being of all students and to follow relevant processes for under 18s.
  • To work with colleagues in tracking student attendance.
  • To ensure that attendance interventions are completed in a timely manner and are accurately recorded, in accordance with the Attendance Policy.
  • To work with colleagues and Heads of Department to organise and facilitate progression and engagement activities.
  • Engagement with Study Group marketing and agent visits, including presentations and contribution to marketing materials.
  • Refer students at risk of breaching visa compliance policy to the visa team.
  • To ensure the safeguarding of students in line with centre policy.
  • To ensure student records are kept up to date and are accurate.

General Duties

  • Day-to-day delivery of student-facing services which include (but are not limited to):
  • Reception/ first point of contact
  • Welfare support and referrals
  • Safeguarding referrals
  • Accommodation enquiries
  • Attendance monitoring
  • Student finance (including bookings, refunds, payments, debt chasing)
  • Working as part of a team to organise and manage registration, arrivals, induction, activities, and events, and providing support and guidance to team members carrying out the activities.
  • To deal with general student queries – face to face, on the VLE, by email and phone.
  • To foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To adhere to all compliance requirements in relation to GDPR, UKVI requirements, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.
  • Any other duties as required by the Progression and Engagement Lead and Senior Management Team.
