We are seeking a highly motivated Product Manager to lead the strategic development and ongoing management of our International Year One (IY1) product portfolio. This is a critical role within Study Group, responsible for ensuring our IY1 programmes delivered globally remain market‑leading, meet the evolving needs of students and university partners, and contribute significantly to our business growth. In addition to managing the IY1 portfolio, this role will also be responsible for contributing to the successful management of other core products delivered by Study Group across a defined number of International Study Centres (ISCs).
The successful candidate will be passionate about international education, possess a deep understanding of the pathway market, and have a proven track record in product management, from ideation and development through to launch and optimisation. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, capable of translating market insights into compelling product offerings.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and execute the long‑term product strategy and roadmap for the IY1 portfolio, aligning with Study Group’s overall business objectives and market trends.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research, competitor analysis, and student/partner needs assessments to identify new opportunities and inform product enhancements.
- Product Development & Launch: Lead the end‑to‑end product development lifecycle, including ideation, business case, curriculum design collaboration, resource development, and successful launch for new IY1 programmes and pathways at assigned ISCs.
- Product Management: Monitor and analyse the performance of existing IY1 programmes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimise student outcomes, progression rates, and commercial success.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including university partners, centre directors, curriculum office, sales, marketing, operations, and admissions, to ensure product success, preparing reports and presentations where required.
- Curriculum & Assessment Oversight: Collaborate with the curriculum office to ensure the IY1 curriculum is robust, academically rigorous, and prepares students effectively for their chosen degree programmes.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all IY1 programmes meet regulatory requirements, internal quality standards, and the expectations of our university partners.
- Commercial Viability: Develop and manage product business cases for assigned centres, ensure all programmes are delivered with minimum viable cohorts for a high‑quality student experience and a positive financial contribution, support with the development of pricing and scholarship strategies, and contribute to revenue forecasting for the IY1 portfolio.
- Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of developments in international education, higher education, and pathway programmes, acting as a subject matter expert for the IY1 product.
ABOUT YOU
- Significant experience in a Product role, ideally within the education sector (higher education, pathway, or international education highly desirable).
- Demonstrable experience in managing a product through its entire lifecycle, from concept to launch and optimisation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data‑driven decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, complex, and international environment.
- A good understanding of the UK higher education landscape and international student pathways.
- Bachelor’s degree or professional qualifications in a relevant field.
- Experience with curriculum development or academic programme design.
- Knowledge of international qualifications and entry requirements for UK universities.
- Experience working with B2B and B2C product models.
