The University of Sheffield International College is seeking a Mathematics tutor to teach on our Level 3 and/or Level 6 programmes. The post holder will be part of the College's Mathematics Team.

About the Role

The academic tutor will be responsible for teaching modules such as Mathematics (Level 3), Mathematics (Level 6), Statistics (Level 6), and Java Programming (Level 6). Responsibilities include marking assessments and providing feedback to students.

The candidate should be fluent in written and spoken English, with experience in assessment marking and administration at a minimum of RQF level 3, and a proven track record in delivering Mathematics modules within UK Higher Education, Further Education, or Sixth Form. Competence in IT skills related to teaching, including Virtual Learning Environments (e.g., Blackboard), is required.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to professional development, strong record-keeping, effective communication skills, and flexibility in managing multiple priorities under pressure. Priority will be given to candidates who can teach Mathematics, Statistics, or Java Programming at Level 6, have experience teaching international students, and possess a working knowledge of LaTeX.

About You

A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field; individuals with a Master's degree or working towards a PhD are encouraged to apply. Experience teaching Mathematics at RQF level 3 or equivalent. Experience in assessment marking at a minimum of RQF level 3. Ability to develop teaching materials and assessments. Proficient in IT for teaching and administration.
