About the Role

With an increased offering of Business programmes and ongoing programme developments, the ISC Strathclyde is looking to expand its business team with a variable hour Business and Finance and/or Economics tutor. You will collaborate with colleagues across the Centre and occasionally across the Network to ensure the effective delivery of teaching programmes aligned with our teaching, learning, and assessment strategies, aiming for an outstanding student experience. As a tutor, you will contribute to designing, developing, and producing teaching and learning materials, as well as new product development across various Business modules at Pre-Master’s and Undergraduate levels. You will also supervise students on pre-master’s programmes. Your responsibilities include supporting students directly and developing innovative teaching practices across the Centre, with a commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and staying updated with Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including lectures, tutorials, and one-to-one supervision.
  • Develop formative and summative assessments, including examinations and coursework, adhering to Centre deadlines.
  • Mark assessments and provide timely feedback, including writing termly student reports.
  • Contribute to the design, delivery, and development of modules at the International Study Centre.
  • Maintain module pages on the University of Strathclyde’s Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle).
  • Coordinate with the Centre’s administration team for induction, orientation, and registration programs.
  • Ensure ongoing welfare and progression support for students by liaising with colleagues.
  • Monitor student progress and implement intervention strategies as needed.
  • Participate in structured procedures for student support, including one-on-one meetings.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related subject, with a minimum of a Master’s degree.
  • Relevant Teaching Qualification (or in the process of obtaining one) or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Experience teaching business, economics, and econometrics modules in UK Higher or Further education, including quantitative and qualitative analysis, with experience working with international postgraduate students, and some undergraduate experience.
