Contract type: Full Time – Fixed Term (27/08/2027)

Location: Aberdeen, Aberdeen International Study Centre

Salary: up to £ 35,000 per annum

JOB OVERVIEW

The role holder will report to the Centre Director, and work closely with Centre Staff, University Colleagues and the Study Group Quality Assurance and Enhancement Office. The main purpose of this role is to provide academic administrative support in implementing activities related to quality assurance, enhancement, and student progression.

The role will focus on the effective implementation of Study Group policies, standard operating processes and procedures, with the purpose of ensuring staff and students are fully supported to maximise student outcomes and satisfaction.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provide administrative support for course approval and periodic review processes, including gathering necessary documentation for panels and meetings, such as agendas, papers, and minutes. Additionally, assisting academic teams in developing relevant documentation.
  • Manage administrative processes for implementing minor and major modifications to courses, which includes monitoring progress, tracking changes, and providing guidance to academic colleagues.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and archiving of all courses and review documentation in accordance with quality standards.
  • Oversee administrative processes for collecting student feedback, including module feedback and focus groups.
  • Assist in the organisation of governance committee meetings, which involves preparing documents, taking minutes, and ensuring follow-up actions are taken.
  • Support the management team in preparation for quality assurance and enhancement activities.
  • Contribute to the production of the Annual Monitoring Report and other evaluative and reflective documents, for submission to Study Group and university partners.
  • Support the Centres MAB and PAB administration activity.
  • Ensure module information is kept up to date on the VLE.
  • Support the Centre Director in academic planning (dates and staff recruitment).
  • Assist the subject leads with the implementation of assessment standards and regulations.
  • Assist with the verification process of assessments., security, collation, distribution, collection and archiving of assessments, examination scripts and documentation.
  • Help co-ordinate the academic moderation process.
  • Communicate with External Examiners- arranging visits/required documentation/reports and feedback.
  • Assist with tracking student progress- referring students to the Extended Progression Team.
  • Communicate with university Link Tutors- arranging visits/talks/cascading information and transition events.
  • Co-ordinate Personal Tutorials
  • Ensure Progression degrees are updated- liaising with SG Marketing and UoA
  • To foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Be prepared to be flexible to meet the needs of the centre.
  • Support Agent FAM trip planning
  • Assist with planning of CPD

ABOUT YOU

  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education, or similar, is highly desirable.
  • 5+ years supporting students in an international educational context.
