Fixed-Term Contract until January 2027
We’re looking for a Shoot Director to join Studio B on a fixed-term basis and lead the creative execution of shoots from prep through to final delivery.
You’ll turn creative ideas into a strong visual approach and lead the team on set to bring them to life. Working closely with Creative Directors, Producers, DOPs, clients and crew, you’ll bring creative judgement, technical knowledge and calm leadership to every production.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is visually led, creatively ambitious and commercially aware, with a strong understanding of how to get the best from a shoot, a team and a budget.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Turn creative concepts into clear visual approaches, from look and feel through to shot design.
-
Work with Creative Directors, Producers and DOPs to plan and prepare shoots.
-
Review scripts, treatments, storyboards and shot lists and identify what’s needed to deliver the creative.
-
Lead shoots across digital, branded content, campaigns, YouTube, long-form and short-form content.
-
Direct talent, contributors, crew and creative teams on set.
-
Make confident creative decisions and adapt when plans change.
-
Work closely with camera, lighting, art, styling and other departments to achieve the right look.
-
Build strong relationships with clients and confidently communicate creative decisions.
-
Understand cameras, lenses, lighting, movement, sound and key production requirements.
-
Plan effectively for VFX and post-production where required.
-
Stay close to the work through post-production and ensure the creative vision is maintained.
-
Balance creative ambition with budget, time and production constraints.
-
Maintain a high creative bar and take ownership of the quality of the final work.
-
Stay curious about new technology, techniques and creative approaches, including AI.
Who You Are
-
Experienced Shoot Director, Director, Creative Director or similar, with a strong portfolio of shoot-led work.
-
Strong visual eye and understanding of cinematography and production.
-
Experienced directing long-form and short-form digital content, including YouTube, branded content and campaigns.
-
Confident directing talent, crews and creative teams.
-
Collaborative and comfortable working with clients, Creative Directors, Producers and DOPs.
-
Calm under pressure and confident making decisions on set.
-
Strong understanding of pre-production, production and post-production.
-
Commercially aware and able to work within budgets and schedules.
-
Strong communicator with excellent creative judgement and visual storytelling skills.
Nice to Have
-
VFX-heavy production experience.
-
Experience with CG, virtual production, motion control or complex camera setups.
-
Experience working with major brands, agencies or production companies.
-
Experience using AI within creative or production workflows.
