The Role:
We’re looking for a visionary Head of Formats to join our team and build a brand-new department focused on original digital-first shows. Reporting into the CEO and Founder, you’ll be responsible for developing a slate of IP – from simple, high-engagement formats to premium, large-scale productions, with the ambition of creating breakout digital franchises. You’ll lead a team to develop, produce and distribute this content, with access to Studio B’s world-class internal creative and production resources.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the vision for a slate of original, digital-first shows and formats.
- Build and manage a high-performing team spanning development, social and strategy.
- Oversee end-to-end execution – from ideation and pilot testing through to full production and distribution.
- Work alongside our in-house production team to bring ideas to life at speed and scale.
- Craft commercial viability for each format, ensuring brand fundability and audience growth.
- Proactively identify and reach out to potential partners, commissioners, networks and platforms to secure development opportunities, funding and distribution.
- Pitch shows to brands, broadcasters, platforms and investors to secure funding and partnerships.
- Collaborate with marketing and social teams to optimise content for platform performance and community engagement.
- Track performance and evolve the slate based on data, audience response, and commercial outcomes.
What Success Looks Like:
- Launch a slate of new shows, with a handful gaining significant viewership and/or commercial traction.
- Demonstrate a net positive return on investment for the formats department.
- Build a team that functions independently and delivers at a high standard of creative and operational excellence.
- Establish Studio B as a leader in digital-first entertainment formats.
Skills and Experience:
- Deep expertise with YouTube, understanding what makes content succeed creatively, culturally, and algorithmically.
- Have built or been part of a team that launched successful digital shows – especially on YouTube.
- Understand platform algorithms, viewer behaviour, and what makes content viral.
- Think in IP, not just content – you know how to build formats that can scale into franchises.
- Equally proficient creatively and operationally: an ideas machine who also knows how to execute.
- Confident pitching to clients, brands, and partners to secure and close branded partnerships.
- An inspiring leader who knows how to build, manage and motivate teams to deliver great work at pace.
- AI friendly with at least moderate experience using a range of tools.
Bonus Points (Non – Essential Experience):
- Experience in branded entertainment or working with brands to fund IP.
- A network of agency or platform contacts.
- Familiarity with talent, creators, or influencer-driven formats.
