Join to apply for the VFX Supervisor role at StudioB. Studio B is a fast‑growing creative production company with a global audience of 20 million+ followers. We create exciting digital content for the biggest brands and are looking for a passionate VFX Supervisor to join our team. If you’re eager to work in a collaborative, vibrant environment and love social media platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook, this is the role for you!

You’ll be the top of the funnel for all VFX work – owning quality control across every project, building smart workflows, estimating accurately, and keeping a tight, well‑supported team firing on all cylinders. You’re calm under pressure, meticulous about detail, and driven to elevate the craft. You’ll also be the bridge between set and post, ensuring that what’s shot aligns perfectly with the pipeline, and that the right people are matched to the right challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Project Oversight & Delivery: Oversee every VFX project end‑to‑end, from brief to final QC, ensuring timelines, budgets, and standards stay on track. Partner with Producers and Directors early to assess feasibility, scope effort, and translate creative ideas into accurate time and resource estimates. Lead and organise dailies; keep the feedback loop clear, actionable, and documented. QC all work at key milestones; ensure deliverables meet technical specs, creative intent, and platform requirements. Act as the on‑set VFX Supervisor where possible, advising on shot setups, data capture, and technical considerations to ensure footage aligns seamlessly with post‑production workflows and pipeline requirements.
  • Pipeline, Team & Workflow: Implement and refine project management tools (shot trackers, review boards, version control, naming conventions) to create transparency and accountability. Work with Producers and Tech Leads to continually improve rendering, storage, and backup systems. Standardise VFX templates and delivery presets to reduce setup time and rework.
  • Risk, Quality & Compliance: Proactively identify bottlenecks and potential issues before they escalate, proposing solutions not problems. Maintain the VFX QA/QC process; track error types and drive continuous improvement to keep quality high and rework low.
  • Resourcing & Vendor Management: Build, maintain, and QC a trusted roster of freelance artists; onboard them smoothly and ensure consistency with internal standards. Work closely with Producers to forecast workloads and align resourcing against project pipelines. Know your internal and external artists’ strengths; pair them with projects that best suit their technical abilities and creative sensibilities. Highlight hiring needs with clear business cases and collaborate on recruitment and onboarding of new VFX talent. Negotiate effectively with vendors and freelancers to balance quality, speed, and cost.
  • Communication & Reporting: Keep Producers and the Head of Production informed on project status, risks, and capacity, always with recommendations ready. Maintain living documentation for all VFX projects: health trackers, process updates, postmortems, and pipeline improvements. Contribute to pitches and creative development; provide feasibility insights and ballpark VFX time estimates to support early planning.

Who You Are

  • You’re calm under pressure and thrive in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.
  • You’re meticulous about detail and obsessed with elevating the craft.
  • You’re a clear, confident communicator who can translate between creative, technical, and production teams.
  • You’re highly organised, proactive, and comfortable owning decisions and outcomes.
  • You’re collaborative, supportive, and passionate about building and nurturing a high‑performing VFX team.
