Join to apply for the Head of Formats role at StudioB. Studio B are looking for a visionary Head of Formats to join our team full-time in London. Studio B is an award-winning digital-first studio, creating branded entertainment for some of the worldâs most iconic brands. Our social-first approach has generated over 15 billion views and an audience of more than 25 million followers globally. We combine creativity with cutting-edge technology, including a leading VFX team and an AI task force, to shape the future of digital storytelling. This is an opportunity to lead a new creative division and build franchises for digital platforms.
Reporting into the CEO and Founder, youâll be responsible for developing a slate of IPâfrom simple, high-engagement formats to premium, large-scale productionsâand leading a team to develop, produce and distribute content with access to Studio Bâs production resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the vision for a slate of original, digital-first shows and formats.
- Build and manage a high-performing team spanning development, social and strategy.
- Oversee end-to-end executionâfrom ideation and pilot testing through to full production and distribution.
- Work alongside the in-house production team to bring ideas to life at speed and scale.
- Craft commercial viability for each format, ensuring brand fundability and audience growth.
- Proactively identify and reach out to potential partners, commissioners, networks and platforms to secure development opportunities, funding and distribution.
- Pitch shows to brands, broadcasters, platforms and investors to secure funding and partnerships.
- Collaborate with marketing and social teams to optimise content for platform performance and community engagement.
- Track performance and evolve the slate based on data, audience response, and commercial outcomes.
What Success Looks Like
- Launch a slate of new shows, with a handful gaining significant viewership and/or commercial traction.
- Demonstrate a net positive return on investment for the formats department.
- Build a team that functions independently and delivers at a high standard of creative and operational excellence.
- Establish Studio B as a leader in digital-first entertainment formats.
Skills and Experience
- Deep expertise with YouTube, understanding what makes content succeed creatively, culturally, and algorithmically.
- Experience building or leading a team that launched successful digital showsâespecially on YouTube.
- Understanding platform algorithms, viewer behavior, and what makes content viral.
- Think in IP, not just contentâability to build formats that scale into franchises.
- Creatively and operationally proficient: an ideas machine who can also execute.
- Confident pitching to clients, brands, and partners to secure branded partnerships.
- An inspiring leader who can build, manage and motivate teams to deliver great work at pace.
- AI friendly with at least moderate experience using a range of tools.
