Studio Art and Frame have a permanent vacancy for a Retail Assistant Manager to work alongside the existing management team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing managerial or supervisory experience looking to progress their career. We have been trading in Frome for over 40 years, due to continued success we are now offering the opportunity for the right person to come and play their part in our development.
This role will see you working for one of the largest independent art retailers in the region, selling a mix of artwork, memorabilia, giftware, art materials and ready made picture frames alongside a comprehensive bespoke framing service. As you grow into the role you will take full responsibility for managing the day to day retail operation of the business, developing and growing this in line with performance targets. Due to the nature of our business this full time position will require full flexibility across 7 days a week.
Applicants for this position must have:
- A proven track record in face to face sales, gained in the retail environment, ideally gained in a sector selling mid to high value product.
- Exceptional Customer Service Skills and the ability to train and develop others.
- Previous supervisory experience is essential, managerial experience desired.
- A solid understanding of IT, packages used on a day to day basis will include Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Sheets. This will be alongside content managing our website and working with online selling platforms.
- A working knowledge of social media would be an advantage.
- A full clean driving licence.
Salary is dependent on experience, this will be discussed at point of interview. A detailed knowledge of art and framing is not necessary, however ambition, a desire to learn and a drive to achieve exceptional results is critical. We are looking for a good communicator who can form professional relationships with colleagues and customers alike. As part of a small retail team you must be hardworking, fully flexible and prepared to go above and beyond.
