Studio Can23 is a London-based architectural and interior design studio. We specialise in the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, conservation, and sustainable new builds. We are looking for an ARB-registered architect with at least three years of post-Part 3 experience to join our small team.
The role involves consultation with the director and responsibility for the technical development and delivery of projects from heritage refurbishments and listed building consents to considered residential extensions and interiors.
The successful candidate will be:
- Experienced across all RIBA work stages, with confidence in running projects and managing both clients and consultants.
- Technically rigorous, with excellent attention to detail and a sound knowledge of planning, building regulations, and contract and site administration.
- A creative designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating considered, design-led work.
- Personable and clear in their communication; fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Comfortable working closely within a small team.
- Proactive in their approach, self-motivated, and enthusiastic, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Skilled in 2D and 3D modelling, rendering, and visualisation.
- Proficient in the Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Confident in freehand sketching.
- Keenly interested in construction, sustainability, and exploring new materials and technologies.
- Experienced on site, or with some site exposure (desirable).
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Ideal but not essential:
- Knowledgeable about architectural history, building conservation, and traditional building techniques, whether through formal qualification, practical experience, or personal interest.
- Proficient in Vectorworks (our primary CAD software).
