About The Role

Studio B Production is growing – this role has been created because of this! We are looking for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Production Accountant to join the team and become an embedded part of how this business runs day‑to‑day. StudioB is a world‑class creative agency and production studio on a creative charge. Our Production Accountant plays a crucial role, bringing structure, precision, and calm control to our finances so our teams can focus on creating their best work. You'll keep the financial foundations solid and aligned so that the charge can happen.

We’re looking for someone who connects with what we’re building and is excited to grow with us long term. This is a great opportunity for a part‑qualified or newly qualified person who wants more than a traditional finance seat. You'll be the only full‑time finance person in the studio, which means you'll be the first point of contact for finance queries across the business, from production to leadership, and a key part of how the team understands and manages its numbers. The role sits within the wider finance function and works closely with our fractional finance partners, who provide senior financial oversight.

Your focus is on the detail: keeping things accurate, keeping things moving, and supporting the production team with the financial insight they need to do their jobs well. There's real room to grow here. As the business develops, so does this role, and we're genuinely invested in the people who come in and make their mark.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Production Finance
  • Work closely with the Head of Production and production team to build, track, and manage monthly production budgets
  • Support the Head of Agency on rolling weekly and monthly forecasting across studio and agency activity
  • Track actual spend against budget throughout the life of each production, keeping the team informed in real time
  • Run analysis on production margins, helping the business understand what's working and where costs are running away
  • Help producers get to grips with budget structures and cost expectations, translating the numbers into something they can actually use
  • Produce clear, timely reporting that gives production and the wider business a live view of where things stand
  • Financial Operations
  • Prepare management accounts with clear, straightforward commentary
  • Maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow, keeping it up to date and accurate
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain Xero, keeping data clean and reporting accurately
  • Prepare payroll, support invoicing and credit control, and assist with revenue recognition
  • Assist with statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit preparation
  • Be the go-to person in the studio for day-to-day finance questions, whether that’s from production, operations, or the leadership team
  • Systems Process
  • Get involved in improving how finance systems and processes work as the business scales
  • Work with our fractional finance partners to embed good habits and build a finance function that grows with StudioB
  • Help document processes and keep things organised as the team and business develop

About You

  • Newly qualified or approaching qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Some experience in a hands‑on finance role, ideally in a creative, production, media, or project‑based environment, though not essential
  • Comfortable with Xero, or keen to get there quickly
  • Strong attention to detail with a tidy, organised approach to your work
  • Confident talking to non-finance people and explaining things clearly without the jargon
  • Happy to roll up your sleeves, this is a doing role, not a delegating one
  • Comfortable working across multiple currencies
  • We’re a studio that uses AI tools actively across the business. You'll have some experience using AI to support your workflow, with the appetite and excitement to learn more
  • Ambitious! There's a genuine development pathway here, and we want someone excited about where it can take them

What You’ll Gain At StudioB

  • Performance & Wellbeing Coaching – Access to ongoing 1-to-1 and coaching designed to support your performance, mindset, and overall well-being, helping you manage pressure, build resilience, and perform at your best
  • Real Growth – We’re a fast-scaling company, which means real opportunity to grow, take ownership, and shape your role as we expand
  • Work Closely with Leadership – You’ll have direct exposure to senior leadership and decision-making, giving you insight and opportunities most companies can’t offer
  • A Culture that Lives Its Values – We care about how people feel at work. Expect a supportive, high-energy environment where people are encouraged to grow, collaborate, and do their best work
