Role Purpose

The Destination Manager will develop and maintain destinations in line with the Scott Dunn destination development strategy and support the Head of Product and the wider Sales & Product team in the overall maintenance of product content, identifying new product opportunities and keeping Scott Dunn up to date with current market trends. The main focus will be across our Africa & Middle East product but there will be opportunity to oversee other destinations depending on business needs. Working successfully with both sales and marketing, the candidate will ensure up-to-date and accurate product information is accessible for the business to maximise sales and revenue opportunities and enhance the overall client experience. This is an autonomous role requiring strong commercial awareness, high attention to detail, flexibility, and a creative flair.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership and destination specialism of certain geographical regions across multiple source markets.
  • Input into Scott Dunn product strategy and driving projects to deadline.
  • Commercial negotiations and ground‑handler tenders.
  • Delivering destination product overhauls to deadline.
  • Drive new campaign ideas and website development.
  • Demonstrate product innovation to help drive your destinations further.
  • Planning fam trips and ensuring that each trip delivers maximum benefit to the business.
  • Managing relationships, leading key supplier meetings and representing Scott Dunn at tradeshows.
  • Supporting the sales teams.
  • Proactively identify sales team training requirements, building a bank of tools and resources.
  • Maintaining accuracy and relevance of content within the product database.
  • Effective communication with product, sales, and marketing team and the wider business.
  • Creatively writing new and existing product copy.

Duties

  • Ownership of destination development projects and in line with the Scott Dunn product strategy and conducting in depth destination overhauls to plan.
  • Monitoring market trends and spotting business opportunities.
  • Undertake commercial rate analysis at destination and property level.
  • Tender Ground Handlers and DMC’s where appropriate.
  • Identify, research and lead on new product development areas, conduct competitor analysis and create project plans.
  • Assist the Regional Destination Manager with strategic and commercial projects.
  • Ensure all tactical, yearly contracted offers and rates are loaded and communicated to sales team.
  • Analysing and reporting on any changes to contracts / rate sheets.
  • Attending out of office hours supplier events.
  • Identify marketing opportunities, ideas and partnerships to feed into the marketing calendar.
  • Managing pre and post fam work of Travel Consultants and planning fam trip itineraries.
  • Problem solving and proactive suggestions to make improvements to existing systems / processes.
  • Seeking creative solutions and exploring new and innovative ways of offering holidays.
  • Support PR with providing costs for press fact boxes as well as putting together itineraries for press trips.
