We are one of the largest Students\’ Unions in the country, connecting student members to share, support and inspire each other while at University. As a registered charity we act as the recognised representative body of all students at the University, and every student is automatically a member free of charge. We provide a range of activities, events, campaigning, commercial and professional services that benefit and support students to get involved, find support, and make change.
Through our trading company, UNU Services Limited, we run two SPAR shops, a bar, coffee shop, clothing shop and a print shop.
The Student Insights Researcher Role:
The Student Insights Researcher supports UoNSU to develop knowledge about the lives of Nottingham students through qualitative, quantitative and desk-based research. You will play a key role in ensuring that our UoNSU officers, staff and student leaders are credible representatives and thought-leaders on the student experience. As part of the Insight and Change team – which forms part of our Research and Representation department – you\’ll help to actively disseminate our learning to deliver impactful changes to students\’ lives and ensure that our action plans, policy recommendations and campaigns are based on our expertise.
What we are looking for in our Student Insights Researcher:
We\’re looking for someone with experience of data analysis and working with statistical tools and who has knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The ideal candidate will have had some experience of sourcing, analysing and presenting secondary data and making clear recommendations on the basis of this analysis. You\’ll also have excellent communication skills and be able to manage your time effectively. Experience of specialist tools (e.g. SPSS, Stata, NVivo or PowerBI) is not essential but desirable.
