Teach the Future Campaign Organiser

Teach the Future are looking for up to two Campaign Organisers to help mobilise volunteers and coordinate campaign activities. These roles make an excellent professional development opportunity for a student or young person, aged 16-26, based anywhere in the UK interested in climate justice and education. Teach the Future is a youth-led campaign to urgently repurpose the entire education system around the climate emergency and ecological crisis.

Location: Home-based

Working patterns: 7 hours per week to be worked flexibly. Occasional UK-wide travel, regular evening calls and occasional weekend commitments.

Salary: £13.45 per hour across the UK and £14.80 per hour in London.

Applicants must be aged 16–26 at the time of applying, as this role is part of the Teach the Future youth campaign for young people aged 26 and under. Due to safeguarding requirements, applicants must be at least 16. Applicants aged 16 or 17 will need parental or guardian permission to take part in the campaign. This is a paid role. You do not need to be in education or have previous employment experience to apply.

As a Campaign Organiser, you'll help to drive Teach the Future's campaign aims, connect with student volunteers across the UK, ensure youth voice on climate education and net-zero schools is heard by policy makers, and coordinate our campaign communications. While staff at SOS UK will support you to develop the skills and knowledge needed, what we really want to see is your passion, motivation and creativity to make integrated, solutions-focused education a reality for every young person in the UK.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Building our volunteer team and supporting them in creating strategies, communications and resources that push politicians to deliver on climate and net-zero schools.
• Developing constructive relationships with decision-makers and youth, climate, nature and education organisations to help achieve our campaign aims.
• Organising remote and in-person activities across the UK to engage young people, politicians and organisations in our campaign.

Your relevant skills and experience do not have to come from paid employment or professional work. We welcome examples from school or sixth form, volunteering, extracurricular activities, community or religious groups, or any other experiences that demonstrate your abilities and potential.
