Overview
We are looking for someone to join our Roost on a part-time basis for an initial fixed term period of 6 months. The successful candidate will be working 3 days on 3 days off, shifts to be confirmed with on-site manager. Our new Caretaker will become a key part of our existing, friendly and experienced property team at our Home Park property in Bournemouth.
Hours: Average of 18.75 hours per week, 3 days on 3 days off rotation.
Salary: £12,285.00 per annum (£12.60 per hour)

Responsibilities
- Be the engine room of the property, working alongside the team and responding to urgent maintenance issues with confidence. If you cannot fix the problem, report it swiftly.
- Bring your whole self to work and contribute your personality to the team; this role values an approachable and proactive mindset.
- Maintain day-to-day maintenance of the property with a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and a respectful approach appropriate for working in someone’s home.
- Adopt a consistent and unrelenting approach to ensuring the property is safe, through accurate and detailed compliance checks and swift reporting of non-compliance.
- Identify and undertake repairs or replacements, including painting, shelving, unblocking drains, and stopping leaks.
- Develop understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and be the site’s go-to for PPM queries.
- Manage the property’s bin store area and lead to ensure contaminated waste is correctly disposed of.
- Participate in safety training and escort, monitor, and assist the quality of work of contracted landscapers and specialist engineers on-site.
- Be the maintenance expert for your site, learning its quirks and areas that require additional care.
- Collaborate with the site manager and assistant manager to raise maintenance issues, coordinate third-party contractors when needed, and ensure PPM is carried out on schedule.
Requirements
- Experience in building maintenance or related roles with the ability to perform repairs and daily tasks described above.
- Strong attention to detail, safety mindset, and customer-service orientation.
- Ability to work approximately 18.75 hours per week on a 3 days on/3 days off rotation.
- Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check as part of pre-employment checks.
