About the Role: Join us as an IT Service Manager (Service Transition Analyst) and play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the largest technology transformation programme in Student Loans Company history. Working within a specialist Service Management team, you will ensure new and changed services are transitioned into live operation in a controlled, efficient and low-risk manner, helping to protect service stability and customer outcomes. The role offers broad exposure across technology and operational disciplines, including cloud engineering, change management, incident management and service operations, providing significant opportunities for professional development.
Success in this position will require strong stakeholder management, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to influence outcomes across a complex delivery landscape. Candidates from IT service management, business change, operational excellence, process improvement or similar backgrounds will be well placed to succeed, particularly those who are adaptable, curious and committed to continuous learning.
What you Bring:
- Experience of working and influencing within multi-disciplinary project teams
- Experience in operational readiness, service acceptance, or project delivery
- Managing changes to service and creating associated documentation.
- Producing high quality deliverables in a variety of contexts / environments
- Applying a structured and methodical approach to problem solving
- Applying a breadth of knowledge of technical skills and applications
- Effectively communicating and setting expectations with stakeholders, both internal and external to your direct team and the SLC
- ITIL v4 Foundation
- Proficient in using the Microsoft office suite (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint etc.)
- A strong communicator, able to communicate messages clearly to a range of audiences at all levels – both verbally and in writing
- Strong planning skills and ability to prioritise work
- Strong people, resolution management and conflict resolution skills
- A proven track record of analysis of requirements
- Good communication skills (chairing meetings, negotiation, handling difficult situations)
- Good attention to detail, tracking and reporting skills
