Student Loans Company is a non-profit making Government-owned organisation to provide loans and grants to students in universities and colleges in the UK. Since 1989, we have enabled our customers to invest in their futures by delivering secure, accurate and efficient assessment, payment and repayment services.

SLC now have an exciting opportunity for a Business System Analyst to join our Banking team within the wider Software Delivery team. The team is responsible for delivering robust Pay and Repay services for our Customers – ensuring that millions of students and their course providers receive correct payments in a timely manner, while supporting Finance partners with their reporting and governance needs. In this job you will fulfil a pivotal role as the interface between technology and business, translating business requirements into technical specifications. You will be a key contributor in ensuring a shared and clear understanding of what a successful outcome looks like – enabling your Delivery colleagues to implement, test, maintain and support our core services. SLC offer a blended working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

What you bring:

  • Proven Business Analysis experience in a commercial IT environment with hands-on knowledge of the full product lifecycle and agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP)
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities with ability to rigorously investigate complex problems, identify key questions, consolidate complicated information, and create coherent narratives from contradictory data
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, you can clearly document and present technical concepts to business stakeholders and business requirements to technical teams
  • Very good stakeholder engagement abilities – proven track record of effectively collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with stakeholders at various organisational levels
  • Excellent facilitation and workshop leadership, you will be skilled at identifying when collaborative sessions are needed and successfully organising and running effective meetings and workshops
  • Technical proficiency and adaptability, solid command of collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint), awareness of cloud technologies, and experience operating in uncertain environments while establishing common understanding
