This part-time as needed position is responsible for supporting all university functions such as conferences, events, meetings, worship services, and activities with sound, lighting, and audio/visual technical support.

Education Required: High School diploma

Education Preferred: Associate Degree

Experience Required: Substantial experience in the operation of complex sound, lighting and video systems. Demonstrated work experience in Customer Service.

Experience Preferred: At least one year as a sound engineer, lighting or sound design, or related position in a professional, academic, or house of worship environment.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Ability to perform physical labor and lift 50 lbs. or more when required; ability to ascend stairs and ladders; ability to work from heights. The position requires stamina to stand for long periods of time.
  • This position requires frequent evening and weekend work.

Driving Requirements: Must have valid driver's license and insurance. This position may require the occasional operation of university vehicles.

Duties:

  • Support the set up, operation and tear down of all sound, lighting, and audio visual technical requirements for all university functions and events on campus.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all technical difficulties experienced during an event in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor the safety and upkeep of all technical areas, facilities, and equipment on campus. Service, maintain, and make minor repairs on equipment.
  • Work with student technicians and help them to develop their technical skills.
  • Maintain punctual and reliable attendance when scheduled.

Secondary Duties:

  • Provide event and organizational support as needed with the Office of Conference and Event Services.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
