Position Summary

Students help with all aspects of catered events; set‑up, service, breakdown and clean up. They also must ensure that standards for quality, safety, sanitation, and presentation are met. Additionally, they must have excellent customer service skills and assist with maintaining customer satisfaction.

Major Preferred Experience

No experience required, but foodservice experience helpful.

Dress Code Requirements

Shirt with sleeves, full length pants, black apron (provided), name tag worn, and closed‑toe shoes. For higher end events: black slacks (not jeans), white dress shirts, black shoes, black socks, name tag worn, and black apron (provided). Candidate must have in possession a white long sleeve dress shirt and black slacks. All clothes should not be form‑fitted or revealing. All hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back.

Special Working Conditions

Lifting required. Ability to stand and work on feet for extended period of time. Must be able to transport food and supplies to various locations on campus. A valid driver’s license preferred (optional). Background check required.

Primary Duties

  • Assist with all aspects of catered events: set up, service, breakdown & clean up.
  • Interact with customers with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
  • Assist coworkers.
  • Ensure standards for quality, safety, sanitation and presentation are met.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Show responsibility for scheduled shifts.
  • Ensure the timely execution of the event.
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and workspace.
