We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The purpose of this role is to provide essential support for our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring that our reconciliation processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will be a key player in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records and supporting the wider team in its mission to drive the financial health of the company.

What You'll Do

  • Reconciliation: You will perform weekly reconciliations of items such as the company credit cards and PayPal accounts, ensuring all receipts are documented and providing updates on balances.
  • Month-End Accounting: Assist in the preparation and posting of key month-end journals, including adjustments for prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • VAT compliance: Prepare and submit draft quarterly VAT returns for review by the Finance Manager, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Payments & Queries: Take responsibility for processing payment runs to our suppliers and partners, ensuring appropriate due diligence takes place.

What You'll Bring

  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Previous experience in a financial assistant role.
  • Familiarity with financial software systems.

Qualifications:

  • Part or fully qualified AAT qualification is desirable.

Package

Salary £TBC dependent on experience, and enjoy a flexible, 35-hour working week, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and an extra 1-day holiday after each year of service (max additional 5 days). We offer a pension scheme and enhanced parental leave, healthcare and life assurance plans, annual leave purchase scheme, plus the option for a sabbatical. The role will be based in Leeds at least one day a week.
