Mobile Generator Service Engineer based at Shropham depot. This role involves carrying out service and maintenance repairs on our rental fleet of diesel-powered generators, pumps and lighting towers. Travel to and from site for both service and breakdown calls is required; a UK driving licence is essential. This position is full time with flexibility in working hours and availability to work on the on-call out of hours rota.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out service and repairs on our rental fleet at various sites and at the depot
  • Preparation of equipment for hire
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical issues on generators, pumps and lighting towers
  • Identify parts required to facilitate effective repairs
  • Load test on generators to ensure effectiveness of equipment
  • Provide engineer support to depot operations

  • Day shift Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability

Skills Required

  • A good knowledge of diesel engines
  • Experience of working with generators and/or pumps
  • Good time management, ability to organise and prioritise work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Good mechanical knowledge

Desirable But Not Essential

  • Previous experience within a rental environment
  • Experience of generator control systems and control panels such as Deep Sea and Power Wizard
  • Forklift license (training can be given)

Experience

  • Generator: 1 year (preferred)
  • Diesel engine: 1 year (preferred)
  • Mechanical: 1 year (preferred)
  • Hire industry: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification

  • Driving Licence (required)
