STS Engine Services is hiring Engine Mechanics and Approved Technicians in Stansted, Essex, United Kingdom. This is a full-time opportunity with varying shifts available, competitive pay, shift premium opportunities and additional allowances for engine approvals held. Job Overview

The Engine Mechanic / Approved Technician will be part of the workshop team responsible for maintenance and repair activities while liaising with Team Leaders and the Workshop Manager to meet daily operational demands. This role is key to ensuring workshop activity is completed in line with customer requirements, industry standards and regulatory expectations. There will also be occasional requirements to work away from base in the field, either near‑wing or on‑wing.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work on various maintenance and repair workscopes as part of day‑to‑day workshop operations
  • Support effective turnaround of engine shop inputs while meeting company objectives
  • Work with the wider team to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Meet and maintain the standards set by the business and regulatory authorities
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant manuals
  • Conduct all tasks in a timely and accurate manner to help keep turnaround times to a minimum
  • Promote a safe working environment and culture that supports efficient maintenance practices
  • Assist with the implementation of company directives and strategies that support continued business growth
  • Contribute to and co‑operate with all staff members to meet performance targets and goals
  • Maintain expected quality standards
  • Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety and Security Policies at all times
  • Maintain proper standards of integrity, conduct and concern for the interests of the company and its customers
  • Comply with Human Factors requirements at all times

Skills And Experience

  • Time‑served aerospace industry apprentice with a minimum of 2 years’ experience post‑apprenticeship
  • Previous experience working in a busy engine shop on the engine types listed above
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of engine shop manuals and associated manuals, including relevant ATA chapters
  • Awareness of Part 145 and FAA regulations
  • Previously held company approval on at least one of the engine types listed above
  • Borescope Inspection experience is desirable
  • Current Human Factors training, EWIS Level 1 and 2 and Fuel Tank Safety Level 1 and 2 would be an advantage, but training can be provided
  • Must be flexible and willing to move between work areas within STS Engine Services as required
  • Must be able to follow Technical Instructions from ESM, CMM, SRM, IPC and other relevant technical documentation
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be able to identify problems, undertake corrective action or propose alternative methods and systems to improve output, improve quality or overcome functional issues
  • Forklift licence is desirable, but training can be provided

Pay and Benefits

  • Salary up to £54,364.43 per annum
  • Additional £7,500.00 per annum shift premium for Mechanic 1 or Approved Technician level only
  • Up to an additional £8,250.00 per annum for all approvals held
  • Pension
