Join STS Group as our next Senior Authorised Person (SAP) Electrical in Slough. STS Group is a well‑established electrical and instrumentation engineering contractor offering design, installation and commissioning services across Ireland, UK, Europe and the Middle East. We work predominantly on pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Utilities and renewable energy infrastructure. We have lots of work ongoing and a full‑order book ahead, we need more good people to come on board our team.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Authorised Person (SAP) to join our data centre project in Slough. You will ensure safe operation, maintenance, isolation, and energisation of electrical infrastructure in line with statutory requirements and company safety procedures. This is a key role for someone who is passionate about electrical safety and system reliability.
Key Duties
- Act as an Authorised Person for LV/MV systems
- Issue and coordinate Permits to Work
- Carry out safe isolation and switching operations
- Support planning, management, and execution of LV and MV installation and maintenance
- Ensure compliance with legislation, procedures, and technical standards
- Manage contractors and supervise electrical works on‑site
- Conduct electrical safety audits, fault investigations, and reports
- Maintain system documentation, drawings, and switching schedules
- Participate in emergency response and fault rectification
Key Qualifications Required
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification (Degree or equivalent)
- Formal Authorised Person LV/MV training (e.g., JSP 375 / HTM / EUSR or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of:
- LV / MV power distribution systems
- Safe systems of work & electrical safety legislation
- Switching schedules, isolations & energisation procedures
- Proven experience in electrical operations within critical or complex estates
- Excellent communication & decision‑making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and lead on safety‑critical tasks
