STS Aviation Services is hiring experienced B1 Aircraft Mechanics for contract positions supporting its winter maintenance programme in Newquay, Cornwall, United Kingdom.
These contracts are scheduled to begin in September and offer experienced aircraft mechanics the opportunity to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on large commercial aircraft at the STS Aviation Services hangar in Newquay.
Applicants must be UK citizens or currently hold valid authorisation to work for any employer in the United Kingdom. Any applicable work authorisation must have at least two years remaining before its expiration date.
Position Overview
The B1 Aircraft Mechanic will perform aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul activities while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with STS Aviation Services and customer requirements.
This position requires recent hands‑on mechanical experience working with live commercial aircraft, strong knowledge of aircraft systems and the ability to maintain accurate maintenance and labour records.

Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on customer aircraft
- Complete aircraft repair, maintenance and overhaul activities
- Follow STS Aviation Services and customer‑specific interface processes
- Record all completed maintenance activities accurately
- Ensure man‑hour bookings are completed correctly and on time
- Maintain high standards of aircraft maintenance workmanship
- Complete assigned maintenance activities efficiently and within required timeframes
- Support customer expectations for quality and operational performance
- Maintain high standards of workplace safety and cleanliness
- Follow all company procedures and policies
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements
- Follow Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations
Qualifications
- At least two years of aircraft maintenance experience
- Experience performing repairs, overhaul and maintenance on large commercial aircraft
- Previous hands‑on mechanical experience working with live aircraft
- Good knowledge of aircraft systems
- Valid authorisation to work for any employer in the United Kingdom
- UK work authorisation must have at least two years remaining before expiration
- Valid Disclosure and Barring Service check or the ability to obtain one
- Excellent interpersonal skills
