STS Aviation Services is hiring B1 Aircraft Mechanics in Manchester, United Kingdom for contract opportunities starting in September 2026. This role is part of our winter programme at the Manchester hangar and is built for experienced aircraft mechanics who know how to work safely, accurately and efficiently in a live commercial aircraft maintenance environment.

Position Summary

STS Aviation Services is rapidly growing, and we are looking for experienced contractor B1 Aircraft Mechanics to be part of our journey as a leading UK MRO. This is an opportunity to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activity on large commercial aircraft while playing a key role at our Manchester facility.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintenance, repair and overhaul of customer aircraft to include all forms of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Follow both STS and customer‑specific interface processes, recording all maintenance activity performed and ensuring all man‑hour bookings are accurate and timely.
  • Execute the highest levels of maintenance standards and ensure aircraft maintenance activity is performed in a timely and efficient manner to the customer’s full satisfaction.
  • Maintain the highest standard of safety and cleanliness, complying with all company procedures and policies.
  • Fully comply with the minimum requirements for Health & Safety in the workplace and COSHH regulations.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ aircraft experience performing repairs, overhaul and maintenance on large commercial aircraft.
  • Applicants must have current authorisation to work in the United Kingdom for any employer.
  • All applicants must have a valid DBS or the ability to obtain one.
  • Previous live aircraft mechanical experience.
  • Good knowledge of aircraft systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications.
