We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our Sports Medicine Sales team covering Newcastle, Middlesbrough, York, Leeds. In this role you will develop and foster strong relationships with key opinion leaders, participate in customer education in the field, support the Sales Representatives to achieve greater customer engagement and commercial success, and actively pursue business opportunities to grow Stryker business in targeted accounts while displaying exemplary customer service and patient focus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the skills required to become an effective sales representative.
  • Learn and practice techniques to grow the volume of a defined territory through sales of Stryker Sports Medicine products.
  • Manage business in accounts within an existing sales territory and be responsible for day-to-day running of key accounts.
  • Proficient in dealing with stock issues, instrument requirements, organising loan kits, coordinating regular customer training, and providing guidance on the safe use of Stryker products within the defined portfolio in hospital and operating theatre environments.
  • Support other sales managers to concentrate on new business acquisition and new account development.

This role supports all products within the Sports Medicine portfolio and works in a team-targeted environment alongside the Endoscopy sales force.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Learn to manage a territory effectively and grow business in line with National sales objectives.
  • Implement training sessions and workshops on the use of Stryker products and deliver them to nurses, theatre practitioners and surgeons.
  • Understand customer needs and identify opportunities to promote and sell Stryker products.
  • Training will be provided on basic selling, presenting and negotiation techniques.
  • Understand different ways to provide product into a hospital through consignment of kit or loan service and manage these channels to suit customer needs.
  • Provide customer service to an existing customer base within the theatre and clinical environment; build relationships with key hospital personnel and respond promptly to requests.
  • Ensure patient care is paramount and only recommend products that are appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team and Regional Business Manager to maintain best-in-class service levels; attend surgeon training meetings and educational conferences.
  • Demonstrate ethics and professionalism; represent Stryker positively.
  • Learn how to conduct trials and evaluations of products in theatre and clinical settings as required.
  • Observe customer needs and coordinate with sales colleagues to follow up and introduce new or additional Stryker products and support.
  • Record customer details and develop a basic business plan with daily, weekly and monthly objectives; prioritise time and resources to grow the business.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Life Sciences, Business or equivalent work experience.
  • A driven attitude, people focus and accountability.
  • Confident delivering presentations.
  • An interest in anatomy and physiology.
  • Demonstrated high achiever who loves to learn and take on challenges.
  • Ability to engage with others, influence, motivate and work hard.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
