The Job's Mission:
Develop the skills required to manage accounts within an existing sales territory and become responsible for the day-to-day running of key accounts by managing stock issues, instrument requirements, organising loan kits, organising and carrying out regular customer training, and learning to provide guidance on orthopaedic surgery in a hospital theatre environment. Supporting other sales managers to allow them to concentrate on new business acquisition and new account development. Essentially, a training role with a view to becoming a full-time Sales Representative with independent targets and business objectives. Bonus based on achievement of milestones/objectives and regional/specific territory target achievement.
Key Activities & Accountabilities:
- Start to gain an understanding of the clinical application of the broader Stryker portfolio to offer our customers an understanding of our wider product range.
- More specifically, regional responsibility for the sale of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for the OI business in the UK.
- Learn how to conduct trials and evaluations of all of our portfolio of products in theatre and clinical environments as required.
- Make observations of customer needs and liaise with sales colleagues to follow up on and introduce new or additional Stryker product and/or support.
- Learn to record details of customers and maintain a basic business plan highlighting daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
- Start to develop the skills needed to prioritise where to allocate time and resources and how to grow business.
- Learn how to conduct price negotiations, produce sales quotations, manage contracts, and provide added value propositions that maximise Stryker profitability.
- Develop an understanding of the local healthcare environment.
- Understand the patient pathway through a hospital and the role we play in providing product for suitable treatment.
- Gain an appreciation for the main departments in hospitals and what interaction we have in those areas.
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Creativity and Team Spirit.
- Additional responsibilities as directed by RSM (Regional Sales Manager).
Education:
- Educated to degree level: BSc life science degree desirable.
- Marketing or other business qualification desirable.
Experience:
- Would be ideal/advantageous if had some sales or business experience but not essential.
- Commercial acumen, an interest or experience of dealing with customers would be beneficial.
- Computer skills, MS Office.
- Presentation skills with modern presentation media.
- Workshop/demonstration skills/training skills/presentation skills.
- An interest in anatomy and physiology.
- A background that demonstrates an ability to engage with others, influence, motivate, and work hard.
- Driving Licence Required.
