This role is on the Software Engineering team at Stryker Medical division's Acute Care business unit. We primarily work with patient handling and patient care equipment within the hospital space such as stretchers, hospital beds, and support surfaces. This role falls under the team addressing the high acuity market, with a focus on products that often come into direct contact with patients. It includes gaining a deep understanding of the customer needs through research and partnership with upstream marketing and also through direct interactions with customers. Working with a diverse team, you will design, develop, modify, evaluate and verify software systems for medical devices. The role includes the full development process from research to product launch.

What You Will Do

  • Lead technical team in design and development of components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices.
  • Design and develop embedded software using C++, C, Python, and other relevant languages based on defined requirements and architecture.
  • Conduct and design advanced prototyping, testing, and research to support complex product development and innovation.
  • Develop and design software systems per requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Partner closely with the Stryker Emergency Care team, providing exceptional service and support to existing customers while developing the skills required to manage and grow a sales territory effectively.
  • Play a key role in ensuring operational excellence across ambulance build projects and customer deliveries.
  • Support territory growth in line with regional sales objectives.
  • Manage key ambulance builder relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact to ensure strong collaboration and alignment.
  • Coordinate and align scheduled deliveries, ensuring accurate planning and smooth execution of orders.
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders including Customer Service, Warehousing, ProCare Engineers and Finance to ensure seamless order processing, delivery and installation.
  • Deliver product training sessions and workshops to nurses, ward staff and ambulance personnel.
  • Conduct product trials and evaluations within clinical environments.
  • Identify customer needs and collaborate with sales colleagues to introduce additional Stryker solutions.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and contribute to business planning (daily, weekly and monthly objectives).
  • Act at all times with integrity, professionalism and respect, representing Stryker to the highest standard.

What You Will Need

  • A medical, life sciences or business-based education, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Some previous sales or clinical experience is beneficial, but not essential.
  • A driven, proactive mindset with strong people skills.
  • Confidence presenting to groups.
  • Exceptional IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A track record of high achievement and a desire to learn and grow.
  • The ability to engage, influence, motivate and build relationships.
  • A strong work ethic and a passion for making an impact.
  • Full driving licence.
