What you will do:

  • Provides manufacturing, product and process co-ordination support to the manufacturing line.
  • Coordinates and evaluates production training and trains trainers.
  • Responsible for ensuring the performance of an assigned team/work process.
  • Ownership and accountability for personal and team-based performance metrics.
  • Work closely with the Operations Supervisors to reduce downtime and optimise performance to the production plan.
  • Ensures team performance meets KPIs on Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Provides active coaching and feedback to operators.
  • Actively manages production flow to optimise performance.
  • Ensures Production Schedule is always followed.
  • Lead the Tier 1 Process.
  • Anticipate potential downtime and reduce production interruptions.
  • Coordinate and prioritise production to meet customer requirements, maintain inventory levels and relevant Key Production Indicators (KPIs) as per the Production Plan.
  • Communicate and record output levels.
  • Collaborate with NPI teams to ensure that builds are prioritised and progressed through the line as per required timelines.
  • Identify and manage training priorities vs business needs monthly.
  • Lead the formation of training schedule and execute the plan to ensure versatility, station rotation and line staffing plans are adequate to meet business needs.
  • Train & support the lines in delivery of training.
  • Responsible for approval, implementation, and scheduling of training for document changes.
  • Lead Production Training for new hires and ensure cross-training plans for employees are implemented.
  • Evaluates and signs off training.
  • Collaborate with the Training Applications Analyst in the upkeep of the SLMS training & ensuring that training is effectively recorded in line with QMS.
  • Review overtime needs with Operations Supervisor and coordinate gathering list of team members to meet this need.
  • Ensure quality standards and expectations are communicated and deployed.
  • Support with maintaining production systems (rework, scrap, line clearance, QA audits).
  • Promote current Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Processes.
  • Lead EHS / 6S for your team – ensure a proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Champion and achieve the 6S process, standards, and objectives using teamwork.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, e.g. Lean/Cost Reduction initiatives.
  • Participate in the resolution of NC & CAPAs as required and ensure effective compliance with Quality Management System (QMS).
  • All other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Education: Desirable: GCSE Grade A-C in Maths, English and Science.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ manufacturing experience.
  • System/Computer Requirements: Competency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; Competency with SAP.
  • Key Competencies needed for this position:

    • Ability to utilise problem solving skills to anticipate and prevent downtime.
    • Ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
