As the Data Science Manager, you will bridge the gap between strategic vision and technical execution across two core disciplines. You will guide the overarching direction of both data science and analytics, ensuring alignment with business goals through a well-defined and dynamic roadmap. By acting as a hands‑on technical leader, you will empower your Senior Data Scientist to build robust machine learning models, and your Senior Data Analyst to scale impactful reporting processes.

Role Requirements:

  • Strategic Direction & Roadmap: Define, build, and own the combined data science and analytics roadmap, ensuring projects across both workstreams align with broader company objectives and drive measurable value.
  • Dual-Workstream Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and provide strategic guidance to the Senior Data Scientist and Senior Data Analyst, ensuring best practices are maintained across both predictive modeling and business intelligence.
  • Hands‑on Technical Support: Actively participate in the technical work. Provide direct support in developing machine learning models, building complex analytical pipelines, and structuring advanced reporting frameworks.
  • Resource & Capacity Management: Oversee workload and project allocation across the two streams. Regularly report on team resources, track project velocity, and ensure efficient deployment of your senior reports and their subsequent teams.

Key Criteria:

  • A practical background in both the data science and advanced analytics spaces, where you have demonstrated the ability to deploy predictive models and generate actionable business insights.
  • Strategic Leadership: Proven experience defining data roadmaps, managing team capacity, and guiding the overarching direction of technical teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R) and advanced SQL, with the ability to provide hands‑on support in machine learning, statistical modeling, and querying large-scale datasets.
  • Platform Experience: Experience utilizing end‑to‑end data science and machine learning platforms to scale operations; specific experience with Dataiku (or similar platforms) would be highly advantageous.
  • Communication & Translation: Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, specifically the ability to translate complex data science concepts and model outputs into clear, strategic takeaways for non-technical senior leadership.
  • Operational Excellence: Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and resource allocation skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic, long-term planning with hands‑on technical delivery, remaining flexible to adapt to changing business demands and deadlines.
