The Role
Our Leakage Department plays a vital role in helping reduce water leakage across the network, supporting operational performance and customer service delivery. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Leakage Technician to join our experienced team and contribute towards achieving leakage detection targets. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of water distribution networks and a proactive, field-based approach to problem-solving. This is a permanent night shift role, working 4 x 10-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out field-based leakage detection activities across allocated District Metered Areas (DMAs)
- Detect and localise leakage effectively, utilising specific leakage detection equipment
- Undertake valve operations, step testing, DMA integrity testing, and pressure, flow, or noise logging to support network optimisation
- Accurately complete paperwork, capture operational data, and provide information to support planning and decision making
- Manage customer interactions professionally, addressing concerns calmly and proactively managing expectations
- Adapt to new technologies and contribute ideas to improve team performance and operational effectiveness
