The Associate Sourcing Manager will support development and implementation of strategic sourcing activities in assigned suppliers and/or commodities, with the goal to obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. The Associate Sourcing Manager will support the development and implementation of strategies and projects related to cost reduction initiatives, new product development, supply base optimisation and rationalisation, quality improvements, risk assessments, and contract negotiations.
What you will do:
- Supporting cross functional teams to develop best in class strategic sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and/or commodities in support of business objectives
- Supporting the implementation of supplier and/or commodity strategy which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and make vs buy analyses
- Represent the ‘voice of the supplier’ in the organisation
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable
- Develop strong relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses
- Identify supply base risk and develop/implement mitigation plans
- Obtain and communicate market condition information and technology trends related to commodities and suppliers. Utilise market trends to identify and implement appropriate cost controls and business strategy changes
- Perform cost analyses and make versus buy analyses as required
- Responsible for assuring cost standards are established for annual operating budgets
- Primary active participant mitigating PCBA risk by searching, reviewing, and recommending procurement of electronics components on the open market
- Works closely with Supplier Management team to develop relationships with key electronic component suppliers
- Active reporting on supply chain risk and activities regarding PCBA electronic suppliers
- Build successful working relationships with internal and external personnel in various departments. Understands quality system(s)
- Drive results in support of the business, even in the face of demanding timelines. Step up to take on additional responsibility where appropriate
- Adept at team management: selects the right people to the right tasks all while maintaining team morale and recognising contributions
- Influence without direct authority in a way that makes others want to be on their team
- Incorporates end-user feedback to refine scope through the project lifecycle and can communicate changes, updates and decisions to key stakeholders
- Understand and communicate how goals fit into broader organisational goals, and prioritise tasks/schedule accordingly
What you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 6 years in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development or equivalent
- Knowledge of Project Management and continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies
- International sourcing and supplier management experience
- Experience with supplier metrics & measurement methodologies and supporting systems
- Experience operating in a highly regulated industry. Medical Device industry sourcing and supplier management experience preferred
- Electronic sourcing knowledge and experience preferred
- Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO13485 and ISO9001 preferred
