Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Experience required
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including vans and flatbed trucks, to transport goods and materials to designated location
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays
- Ensure the application of the business “key standards” are maintained
- Ensure productivity targets are met
- Assist with stock counts and movements
- Assist as required within all operational work areas
- Ensure the warehouse and loading areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times to comply with Company policy and Health & Safety Regulations
- General housekeeping including sweeping/cleaning up the warehouse
- Promote excellent working standards complying with the company BRCGS guidelines
- Undertake any other tasks as directed by a member of the management team
Key Experience And Qualifications
- Previous experience as a REACH DRIVER, preferably in a commercial or warehouse setting – you will be required to be assessed
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and basic vehicle maintenance
- Familiarity with various types of vehicles, such as vans and flatbed trucks
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Ability to navigate using GPS or other navigation systems
- Basic understanding of Maths and English
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative working in a busy environment
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team to deliver results
