Key Duties and Accountabilities

  • Experience required
  • Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including vans and flatbed trucks, to transport goods and materials to designated location
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securement
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays
  • Ensure the application of the business “key standards” are maintained
  • Ensure productivity targets are met
  • Assist with stock counts and movements
  • Assist as required within all operational work areas
  • Ensure the warehouse and loading areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times to comply with Company policy and Health & Safety Regulations
  • General housekeeping including sweeping/cleaning up the warehouse
  • Promote excellent working standards complying with the company BRCGS guidelines
  • Undertake any other tasks as directed by a member of the management team

Key Experience And Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a REACH DRIVER, preferably in a commercial or warehouse setting - you will be required to be assessed
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and basic vehicle maintenance
  • Familiarity with various types of vehicles, such as vans and flatbed trucks
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Ability to navigate using GPS or other navigation systems
  • Basic understanding of Maths and English
  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative working in a busy environment
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team to deliver results
