Overview
Pump Engineer. Our client is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who knows clean water pumps. There will also be some supervisory duties in this position. The Role: Permanent. Salary up to £44k + overtime, sick pay, pension & other benefits. Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer, ideally with some supervisory experience. They boast a blue-chip client base that includes some of the largest manufacturers and best known brands in the world. We specialise in optimising asset performance, including motors, gear boxes, pumps, machining induction, condition monitoring and fabrication services.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out the inspection and fault analysis, on all types of pumps, pumping systems, pipe work and associated equipment
- Sourcing components
- Completing repairs
- Testing repaired items
- Developing test equipment and procedures
- Preparing fault / repair reports
- Liaising with suppliers
- Liaising with customer for fault identification
- Producing recommendations for replacement with new item
- Maintaining test kit, tools and workshop
- Presentation of returned items to desired standards
- Presenting a tidy workshop and workspace
- Working within the Deritend QA workshop procedures, method statements and risk assessments
Skills and Experience
- An experienced electro/mechanical or pump engineer
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical repair techniques
- Knowledge of a broad range of test equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
- Basic mechanical aptitude
